Welcome to the Late Model Racing Queensland Inc. website. Late Model racing is a new class of speedway racing here in Queensland. It's the biggest form of Speedway in America, even bigger than Sprintcars. Late Model racing is very strong in Western Australia and New South Wales and have just branched out into Queensland, South Australia and Victoria. Late Models are a pretty much an open class that are a purpose built chassis car, made predominately in America, but on saying that there are some local chassics racing as well. The cars run a 400 - plus cubic Chev Motor. Racing on tracks in America these cars can reach speeds of over 200 km/h, but here in Queensland will reach an average speed of around 130 km/h. This is one of the most exciting and entertaining forms of Speedway. We would also like thank all of our sponsors for their support in this 2009 / 2010 Thunder Series.
